Join us Saturdays this September and October. Blast off with astronomy experts from The Jasper Planetarium for an exclusive dining and stargazing experience atop the Jasper Skytram. Your SkyTram flight will take you nearly 1 km closer to the stars above, to the Skytram Upper Station, where you'll have the chance to look through the most powerful telescopes in the Canadian Rockies under the darkest skies in the Rockies.
Join a guided tour of the Solar System, learning about planets, galaxies, and constellations, and if you're lucky, you might even see a meteor or the Northern Lights!* You'll also have a chance to attend a special talk on Canada's dark skies or a quick workshop about how to photograph objects in the night sky with your DSLR camera.

Return flights run between 9:30pm - 10:30pm. Tickets available for purchase online only.
Please note that while we normally are happy to have dogs at the SkyTram, they are not permitted at Star Sessions due to the indoor and dining components of the event.
The SkyTram Upper Station is usually 10 ° cooler than in town as it is 1000 metres higher than Jasper, so bring warm layers to enjoy the outdoor stargazing portions of the evening.
*Weather is an element that is continually changing and is out of our control. Star Sessions will run rain or shine - please be aware of weather conditions ahead of time. In the event of foul weather, the indoor components of the event will run as scheduled and the telescope guides will be showcasing different astrological events that can and have been witnessed throughout the Athabasca valley. You will have the opportunity to view the Jasper townsite and valley along with astrophotography viewings. Cancellations outside of 24 hours prior to the event will receive a full refund. If cancelling within 24 hours, there will be a cancellation fee of $33.60 per person. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Due to the unique nature of Star Sessions a minimum number of attendees are required for the event to run. Spaces are also limited in order to accommodate social distancing measures. Please note that face masks are mandatory inside the SkyTram cars and during indoor portions of the event. You are welcome to bring your own mask or purchase one either online at the time of ticket reservation or at the Lower Station upon arrival. In order to mitigate any risk, we are utilizing touchless video-based telescopes. Please read our Health and Safety page for more information on our precautions in place due to COVID-19.
